Update March 2023

The twelve polytunnel grow beds (i.e. the existing 6 beds and the 6 beds under construction) have now been allocated and the new beds are almost complete.
The first 6 applicants drawn were allocated the new beds under construction (numbers 7-12) for 2 consecutive years. The other successful applicants were allocated one of existing beds (numbers 1-6) for one growing season 2023/24.
A draw for 2024 will be held in January next year for beds 1-6, for 2 years.
A working party to build the new beds has met several times. The polytunnel has been reorganised, as has the area outside. The new bed structures are complete and awaiting compost.
Thanks to all who have been involved in helping increase the number of polytunnel grow beds.

February 2023
Expressions of interest were sought from PPAA plot holders, in January, as planned. Eleven expressions of interest were received, of which nine met all the agreed criteria. The two that didn’t meet all the criteria had not yet paid their PPAA subscriptions for 2023.
A draw was held to allocate the applicants to the beds, with the first 6 drawn allocated the new beds under construction (numbers 7-12) for 2 consecutive years. The remaining applicants who met the criteria will be allocated one of existing beds (numbers 1-6) is for one growing season 2023/24.
Expressions of interest for any remaining poly tunnel beds will be sought, once the allocation process is complete. (A draw for 2024 will be held next year for beds 1-6, for 2 years).
A working party to build the new beds has met once and plans to build the new beds by the end of February.
